Project Units
Our research team is composed of diverse experts from various fields, including social sciences, psychology, health economics, health services research, applied linguistics, implementation science, and psychiatry. We embrace an international and interdisciplinary approach, combining local expertise with global best practices. Together, we will collaborate with local stakeholders to design, implement, evaluate, and sustain an enhanced support system for new parents and their infants who are affected by perinatal mental illness. This partnership aims to bring together the knowledge and experience of different disciplines, ensuring a comprehensive and effective approach to address the needs of this vulnerable population. Overall, 4 substantial units can be identified:
Participatory Research Unit
- Actively involves key stakeholders in the research process
- Promotes collaboration, co-creation, and shared decision-making
- Incorporates stakeholders’ perspectives, knowledge, and expertise
- Aims to ensure inclusivity, empowerment, and relevant research outcomes
The Participatory Research Unit is a team within a research project that involves actively engaging and involving key stakeholders, such as community members, organizations, or individuals with lived experience, in the research process. The unit facilitates collaboration, co-creation, and shared decision-making between researchers and stakeholders, ensuring that their perspectives, knowledge, and expertise are incorporated into the research design, implementation, and outcomes. The goal is to promote inclusivity, empower participants, and generate research findings that are relevant, meaningful, and applicable to the target population.
Stakeholder Engagement Unit
- Identifies and engages stakeholders with a vested interest in the research project
- Cultivates productive relationships and maintains open communication channels
- Considers stakeholders’ voices, needs, and perspectives
- Promotes transparency, accountability, and the relevance of research activities
The Stakeholder Engagement Unit is responsible for identifying, involving, and maintaining productive relationships with stakeholders who have a vested interest or are affected by the research project. These stakeholders can include individuals, organizations, policymakers, or community groups who have a stake in the project’s outcomes. The unit facilitates communication, collaboration, and information exchange between researchers and stakeholders, ensuring their voices are heard, their needs are considered, and their perspectives inform the research process. By actively engaging stakeholders, the unit promotes transparency, accountability, and relevance in the research project.
Impact and Policy Unit
- Assesses the potential impact of the research project
- Translates research findings into actionable policies or practices
- Evaluates outcomes and implications for individuals and communities
- Collaborates with policymakers to inform evidence-based decision-making
The Impact and Policy Unit focuses on assessing the potential impact of the research project and translating research findings into actionable policies or practices. This unit evaluates the outcomes and implications of the research, considering its influence on individuals, communities, organizations, or policies. It examines the broader societal, economic, and environmental effects of the research and identifies strategies to maximize positive outcomes and address any potential negative consequences. The unit also collaborates with policymakers and stakeholders to ensure that research findings inform decision-making processes, leading to evidence-based policies and practices that can bring about meaningful change.
Public Awareness Unit
- Generates awareness and disseminates information about the research project
- Develops effective communication strategies for diverse audiences
- Utilizes media campaigns, events, and educational materials
- Aims to enhance public understanding, engagement, and support for the research
The Public Awareness Unit aims to create awareness and disseminate information about the research project to the wider public. This unit develops strategies and implements activities to effectively communicate research findings, objectives, and outcomes to diverse audiences. It may involve media campaigns, public events, educational materials, social media engagement, or collaborations with community partners. The unit seeks to increase public understanding, engagement, and support for the research project, fostering a sense of ownership and promoting the potential benefits of the research within the broader community.
